Young man arrested with eight kilograms of drugs

A young local man has been arrested from a residence in Maafannu, Malé City, with eight kilograms of drugs.

Following an intelligence report received by the Police, the Drug Enforcement Department (DED) of the Police began a special operation last night at 11 p.m. and executed a search at rented part of Maafannu Shabinaage with a court order.

Police said that they found what is believed to be hash oil from the residence.

While the case is being investigated by the DED, the man who was arrested has been remanded by 15 days by the Criminal Court to be detained at a location designated by the Home Ministry.
