Man sentenced to 17 years in prison over sexual assault of niece

Mahmood Hussain from H. Goldenshower in Male’ has been sentenced to 17 years in prison for the sexual assault of his niece by Kulhudhuffushi Magistrate Court.

State prosecution had charged Mahmood over sexual assault of a minor while in a position of trust.

“Sun” has been informed that the minor in question is the man’s niece.

Mahmood is accused of continuously sexually assaulting the minor from 2014 onwards.

The verdict against him reads that he had confessed to the crime.
