Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) and Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen cooperation between the two organizations on a number of areas.
The MUO was signed on September 10, in the sidelines of the PATA Travel Mart 2017 held in Jakarta, Indonesia.
It was signed in a special ceremony by President of MATATO, Abdulla Giyaas and CEO of PATA, Dr. Mario Hardy.
The two organizations are to cooperate and provide opportunities, resources and technical assistance to each other.
MATATO announced that the MUO was a product of the age-old close ties between the two organizations.
PATA has over 8,000 member organizations and 43 branches across the world.
President of MATATO, Giyaas said that the partnership between the two organizations would be very beneficial to MATATO and open up numerous new opportunities.
“MATATO will be participating with many of PATA’s events in the future. We will also work on holding an event by PATA in Maldives very soon,” said Giyaas.
Meanwhile, CEO of PATA, Hardy also said that the partnership would be very beneficial to both organizations.
