Maldivian pilgrim in coma in Saudi Arabia, no improvement

Maldives Hajj Corporation reports that one the Maldivian pilgrims they took to Saudi Arabia for hajj - an elderly man – is in a coma, and that his condition hasn’t improved.

The identity of the elderly man is being kept hidden as per the request of his family.

Managing Director of Hajj Corporation, Yameen Idhrees spoke to “Sun” this Monday and said that the man’s condition has not improved.

He said that the man went to a coma after suffering a “shock”.

The man is being treated at the Intensive Care Unit of King Faisal Hospital, and the doctors have declared that he is too sick to be moved and transported back to Maldives.

Two Maldivians who made the trip to Saudi Arabia for hajj this year have died, while the rest are returning back to Maldives after completing the pilgrimage.
