Speed breakers to be reinstalled on the streets on Addu City

The reinstallation of speed breakers on the streets of Addu City has started.

After removing the previously installed speed breakers on the tarmac roads of the city, the reinstallation of the speed breakers started yesterday.

As the project contracted to Maldives Road Development Corporation (MRDC) has started, Addu Coordinator for the Housing Ministry, Mohamed Faisal said that the new speed breakers are being installed after removing the old ones and putting a concrete layer.

He said that the new speed breakers would be stronger and the screws would hold stronger on the concrete.

Faisal said that the old speed breakers came off after the screws on them got loose when the tarmac heated up.

While the old speed breakers were taken out yesterday, the Housing Ministry said that the reinstallation would take about a month.
