Four injured in dangerous traffic collision near the MPL area

Four people have been injured in a dangerous traffic collision that to place near the Maldives Ports Limited area on Boduthakurufaanu Magu.

Information Officer of the Maldives Police Service, Ismail Ali told Sun Media that four people sustained different levels injuries in a traffic collision that took place around 10:28 p.m. involving a car and two motorcycles.

The Police Media Official said that all four people were injured one one of them sustained a serious injuries and they all have been taken to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH). The details of their injuries are unclear at this time.

Police said that the incident occurred when a motorcycle collided with a taxi cab and the motorcycle behind the first motorcycle collided with it.

Media Official of IGMH, Zeenath Ali Habeeb said that a 49-year-old woman along with a 56-year-old man and a 20-year-old man were brought to the hospital following the traffic collision tonight.

She said that only three were brought to the hospital and all three are in stable condition.

The 49-year-old is believed to have sustained a fracture in her leg and the young man sustained a scrape on his lips. IGMH said that all three are expected to be released tonight after treatment.

Police has neither confirmed or denied if an arrest has been made in relation to the traffic collision tonight. Police Media Official said that the case is being investigated further.
