Bus flipped en route to Maandhoo from Gan

A bus travelling from Laamu Gan to the atoll’s Maandhoo has flipped on the road leaving the driver injured.

Police Media Official said that the speeding bus flipped near a bend on the road to Maandhoo on the Laamu Link Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The Official said that only the expatriate driver was in the vehicle when the incident occurred and has now been taken to the hospital.

No information as to the age, nationality and gender of the driver was released by the Police aside from that the driver was an expatriate.

This is the second such incident on the Laamu Link Road this week. Last Saturday, four cars transporting performing artists from Laamu Kaddhoo Airport collided on the link road leave a few artists injured.

Among the artists in a car involved in the incident include Shalabee who got famous on Maldivian Idol and popular singer Meera Mohamed Maajid.
