Woman caught smuggling phones into prison in slippers

A woman has been arrested in an attempt to smuggle two phones into Kaafu Maafushi Prison.

Police said that they arrested a 24-year-old woman for the attempted smuggling.

The woman was arrested in a special operation conducted by Maafushi Police yesterday following an intelligence report received by the Police Intelligence.

During the search after taking the woman into custody, Police found two phones hidden in a pair of shoes in a bag the woman was carrying.
