Grand Mufti steps down from Hajj Sermon after 35 years

After 35 years of delivering the Hajj Sermon at Masjid e Nimra in Arafat (Namira Mosque), Grand Mufti, Abdul-Aziz ibn Abdullah Al ash-Sheikh has stepped down from the position.

The Grand Mufti has been delivering the Hajj Sermon since 1981. He is stepping down from the position due to health reasons according to the Saudi Gazette.

And so the year’s Hajj Sermon will be given today by the former Chairman of the Saudi Majlis al Shura (Shura Council), Sheikh Saleh bin Humaid.
