Eesa, Adubarey and Wadde arrested last night with court orders remanded by 13 days

The three people arrested with court orders at the protest rally by the Maldives United Opposition (MUO) last night have been remanded by 13 days.

Court warranted arrests last night were of the former MP for Kendhikulhudhoo constituency and current MDP National Congress member, Ahmed Eesa, MDP National Congress member, Mohamed Waheed (Wadde) and Midfielder of Maaziya Sports Club and the National Football Team, Assad Ali (Adubarey).

Information Officer of the Police, Ismail Ali told Sun Media today that the three people were not arrested in relation to the protest rally, but due to a separate, ongoing investigation. He did not give any further details on the case.

The Police Information Officer said that all the people arrested at the protest rally have now been released and the four video journalists from Sangu TV and Rajje TV that were arrested last night were released late last night.
