Bangladeshi man arrested smuggling in 944 grams of cannabis

Authorities have arrested a Bangladeshi man attempting to smuggle in 944 grams of cannabis into Maldives.

Maldives Customs reported that the Bangladeshi man had travelled to Maldives from a Sri Lankan Airlines flight on August 26.

The cannabis was found stored inside his luggage.

“The 944 grams of drugs were discovered from inside the man’s luggage after the officials from airport’s passenger clearance grew suspicious. The drugs turned positive for cannabis after analysis,” reported Maldives Customs.

The Bangladeshi man is currently under police detention.
