Special Advisor to Saudi King meets President Yameen

Special Advisor to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Faiz Al Abideen paid a courtesy call on Maldivian President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom on Thursday morning.

During the meeting held at President’s Office, President Yameen welcomed Dr. Abideen to Maldives and expressed his gratitude for the continued support and cooperation provided by the Saudi government to Maldives.

He also thanked the Sauid government for doubling the hajj quota for Maldivian pilgrims this year to 2,000.

President’s Office reported that President Yameen and Dr. Abideen discussed areas that the two countries can expand their cooperation and collaboration in.

Meanwhile, Special Advisor to Prime Minister of Japan Shinz? Abe, Katsuyuki Kawai also called upon President Yameen on Thursday morning.

President Yameen welcomed Katsuyuki to Maldives and expressed his gratitude for the continued support and assistance provided by the Japanese government – especially in economic and social development of Maldives.

President’s Office reported that President Yameen and Katsuyuki discussed ways to further develop the cooperation and collaboration between the two countries at an international and bilateral level.

The meetings were attended by senior State officials including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Asim.
