Officials have been appointed to four new senior positions created within Maldives National University, Thursday morning.
The 4 positions and the people appointed:
• Dean of Research: Dr. Raheema Abdul Raheem, former Head of Faculty of Health Sciences and Research Director of Villa College
• Head of Center for Foundation: Mohamed Didi, former Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Islamic Affairs
• Controller of Examinations: Fathimath Naziya, former Deputy Principal of Center for Higher Secondary Education
• Dean of Students: Nadiya Ahmed, Acting Examinations Controller and senior official of Faculty of Education since 1997
MNU announced that everyone, except for the newly-appointed Dean of Students, Nadiya were new to the University.
They have been appointed for a four-year term.
The letter of appointment was given to the four officials by Vice Chancellor of MNU, Dr. Ali Fawaaz Shareef in a ceremony held at the University this Thursday morning.
Dr. Ali Fawaaz noted in his speech that though the work associated with the new positions were not new, the positions were, nevertheless, created in order to increase efficiency and quality of services provided by the university.
He said that he hoped to see major reforms in research, foundation courses, student support and examinations within the next six months.
