Maldives wins award for Best Island

Maldives has won the award for Best Island in the Reader’s Travel Awards 2016 organized by the popular travel magazine, Condé Nast Traveller.

All the winners in the Reader’s Travel Awards are chosen by a poll among the readers of the magazine.

Best Island Award was won by the Maldives after competing with the Greek Islands, Balearic Islands of the coast of Spain and Seychelles.

At the award ceremony held in London, the award was accepted by the Maldivian High Commissioner in UK, Ahmed Shiaan.

Aside from the Best Island, the award for the Best Hotel Spa also came to the Maldives along with the best resort in Indian Ocean, Africa and Middle East, as won by One and Only Reethi Rah.
