Transport Authority has said that the new grounds for the driving license test is ready at the Carnival area and the driving tests would begin once the weather clears.
Driving tests were previously done near the new Tsunami Monument square in Maafannu. But with the construction and renovations of Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) ongoing in the area, the licensing area was moved to Carnival.
Chairman of the Transport Authority, Abdul Radheed Naafiz said that when the current rains let up, the new grounds would be opened to do the driving license tests.
A number people are making complaints with the current halt on driving licensing.
The Transport Authority has long-term plans to move all related steps of the driving licenses to Hulhumalé.
