Food and Hospitality Asia Maldives - International Culinary Challenge started at Dharubaaruge in Male’ on Monday morning.
Speaking during the launch, Minister of Economic Affairs, Mohamed Saeed said that the exhibition was a platform through which local businesses can integrate with international businesses involved in food and hospitality.
He said that it would be fruitful for local businesses.
Saeed said that Maldivian tourism industry was moving forward with the development and recognition it had achieved during the past 40 years.
The exhibition will continue until August 24
120 stalls have been set aside in the exhibition for local and international resort suppliers. And more than 450 chefs will participate in the culinary challenge to showcase their skills.
This is the biggest culinary challenge to be held in the country.
The panel of judges are made up of food and hospitality experts from across the world.
