Chinese embassy donates money to Autism Association

Chinese embassy in Maldives has donated money to the Maldives Autism Association.

Chinese ambassador Wang Fukang presented the USD 8,100 (MVR 124,902) to the Autism Association in a special ceremony held at Autism Association headquarters on Monday morning.

The donation was accepted on behalf of Autism Association by its Managing Director, Ifhaam Hussain.

Ifhaam reported to media after the ceremony that the Chinese embassy was a regular donor to the Autism Association.

She said that the money would be used to fund therapy, make fee settlements for children who are unable to make the payment, and to give teachers their salary.

“We face many difficulties in giving teachers their salary. We face many difficulties with students who are unable to pay their fees. Such financial donations are used for this,” said Ifhaam.

Previous donations to the Autism Association by the Chinese embassy include computer systems.
