Minor International of Thailand, which runs three brands of tourist resorts in Maldives, has announced a profit of USD 13.4 million during the first half of 2016 from Maldives and United Arab Emirates alone.
Minor International runs five tourist resorts in Maldives on joint venture basis, and has one resort which it runs on its own.
The six resorts are:
• Anantara Veli Maldives Resort
• Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort
• Anantara Kihavah Villas
• Naladhoo Maldives
• PER Aquum Niyama Maldives
• Huvafenfushi Maldives
Minor International has 149 hotels across the world, 57 spas, residential properties and entertainment plazas.
The company announced an income of USD 819.8 million during the first two quarters of 2016, and a profit of USD 127.6 million.
USD 30.9 million of the income came from the six resorts in Maldives, and the eight resorts and six spas in UAE. And USD 13.4 million of the profit – from Maldives and UAE as well.
This value, however, is lower than what it gained during the first two quarters of 2015.
The company had received approximately USD 14.5 million in profit from Maldives and UAE during the first two quarters of 2015.
