Food and Hospitality Asia Maldives – International Culinary Challenge 2016 was launched in Male’ on Sunday with over 450 chefs from all over the world working in Maldivian tourism industry participating in the event.
This is the biggest culinary challenge to be held in the country, to date.
Manager of Expo Services, Fathimath Zaaly said that chefs would be awarded from 20 categories in the event – including hot cooking and cake baking.
“The certificate the chefs will receive for participation has been endorsed by WACS [World Association of Chefs' Societies],” said Zaaly.
120 stalls have been set aside in the exhibition for local and international resort suppliers.
The event is being held at Dharubaaruge, and will continue until August 24.
