National Meteorological Center has issued a white alert from Lh. Atoll to S. Atoll as weather conditions deteriorate.
The white alert was issued from 2:30 pm to 9:18 pm, this Sunday.
Met Office had also issued a white alert on Saturday night from L. Atoll to H. A. Atoll.
Met office forecasts widespread rain with a few heavy showers and thunderstorms over the country, in general.
Surface winds are forecasted to vary between south west and westerly at 5 to 15 miles per hour in the southern atolls, and west and north westerly at 13 to 23 miles per hour in the rest of the country.
Winds may gust 45 miles per hour during showers.
Seas are expected to be moderate in the southern part of the country and rough elsewhere.
The forecast is for the next 24 hours, starting from 10 am this Sunday.
Met Office has advised that travelers – especially in the northern and central part of the country keep up to date with the latest weather forecast when travelling by sea.
