National Meteorological Center has forecasted rain showers and few thunderstorms in the country over the weekend.
Met Office forecasts scattered showers and thunderstorms, with heavier showers in central and southern region of the country.
Central region of the country, including the capital – Male’, experienced heavy rain on Friday during the afternoon and night, with the bad weather conditions continuing on Saturday.
Met Office forecasts surface winds varying between south and south west at 5 to 13 miles per hour in the southern region of the country, and surface winds varying between south and south west at 10 to 20 miles per hour in the rest of the country.
Winds may gust to 40 miles per hour during showers.
Meanwhile, seas are expected to be slight in the south and moderate elsewhere – becoming rough during showers.
The forecast is for the next 24 hours ( from 10 am on August 20 to 10 am on August 21).
