Bids have been opened to build a 100-bed hospital at the Equatorial Convention Center (ECC) in Hithadhoo, Addu City.
An announcement made by the Finance Ministry said that a decision has been made to build a tertiary hospital at ECC on design and build basis from the loan money from Saudi Fund for Development and Opec Fund for International Development (OFID).
Local and international bids are welcome for the project.
While the pre-bid meeting is set for 5 September at the Finance Ministry, a payment of USD 90,000 or equal amount in MVR has to be made as Bid Security.
The bid would be opened on 13 October.
ECC was built in the presidency of Mohamed Nasheed to hold the SAARC Summit and has been abandoned since.
