Coastguard works on rescuing yacht in distress

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) Coastguard squadron for Male’ area has started providing assistance to the yacht – Dhonkamana – sinking to the bottom of the lagoon of K. Kuda Vilingili.

The distress call was received by MNDF Maritime Rescue Coordination Center at 7:35 am, Thursday morning.

Coastguard squadron for Male’ area took over, and a team of officers – including divers reached the yacht on Coastguard Harbor Craft 115 speedboat at 8:55 am, and are currently working on rescuing the yacht.
