Majlis backs new Home Minister, Azleen

People’s Majlis, on Tuesday, voted to back new Minister of Home Affairs, Azleen Ahmed.

54 lawmakers voted to back Azleen, while eight lawmakers voted against approving Azleen as the new Minister of Home Affairs.

Azleen was hired as the new Minister of Home Affairs on August 1, after the former Minister of Home Affairs – Umar Naseer resigned from his post and announced his candidacy for the upcoming Presidential Election.

Azleen has experience in serving the State in education sector, having last worked as Head of Center for Higher Education.
