Indian High Commissioner to Maldives, Akilesh Mishra has sent Independence Day felicitations to all Indians working in Maldives.
In Mishra’s statement on occasion of 70 years of independence in India, he said that it was a day to remember all national heroes who fought for the country’s independence, and prioritize serving the nation, in accordance with the example they set.
Mishra asked that all Indians prioritize national interest over self-interest.
He noted in his statement that India had made many achievements – economically, socially and technology – since it gained independence in 1947. And asked that everyone increase their efforts to further develop the nation and bring it more glory.
Mishra also thanked Maldivians for the hospitality and assistance received by Indians living in Maldives, and vowed to further strengthen ties between the two countries.
