BroadCom declares 2 Sun Online articles false

Broadcasting Commission has condemned Sun Online, alleging that the media station had published two articles related to the Commission falsely.

BroadCom sent a letter to Sun Online on Wednesday night, in which the Commission noted that the Dhivehi article published by the media station on Wednesday - which’s headline translates to “BroadCom: TV programs do not need to be made friendly to hearing impaired” – was not a true representation of the Commission’s decision in the matter.

The Commission also said that the article published on July 1, which’s headline translates to “Television stations can telecast news without response from opposition parties” – was also not a true representation of the Commission’s decision on the matter.

BroadCom asked Sun Online to be more responsible in publishing news.
