Ashraf: Not every work can be compensated with money

President of the Dhivehi Language Academy, Ashraf Ali has said that not every work that someone does can be compensated with money.

Speaking at the ceremony held last night at Iskandhar School to honor those who have worked to develop and enhance the Dhivehi Language, Ashraf said that there are those who have worked for Dhivehi Literature in the past, for free, and achieved so much that today, we are proud of. And he said that their work for the language cannot be compensated with money.

Ashraf said that with the formation of the Language Academy, the literature scholars of the country have the opportunity to work under one roof.

The President of the Language Academy said that the progress of the Dhivehi language was in decline when the National Language Center was dissolved in 2010. But with the help of some sincere supporters, an organization was formed by the name of Liyuntheringe Gulhun (Writers Connect) and pushed it forward.

He said that the eyes of the people can be opened to the Maldivian history and the Dhivehi language by continuously work for the language.

At the ceremony last night, commemoratory awards were presented to those who served in the development and progress of the language in different fields. And so 15 companies and 30 individual citizens were awarded with the honorary shield.

The honor awards to the individual citizens were presented by the President of Order of Nishan Izzuddeen, Abdul Rasheed Hussain. And the honor awards to the companies were presented by the President of the Dhivehi Language Academy, Ashraf Ali.
