Sun Hotels and Resorts – travel agency which paid the highest tax

Sun Hotels and Resorts Private Limited has won the “Ranlaari Award” by Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) – given to the Maldivian travel agency which paid the highest amount in taxes.

The award was handed over to Sun Hotels and Resorts during the function held on Tuesday night at Dharubaaruge to celebrate MIRA’s 6-year anniversary.

The “Ranlaari Award” was handed over to 17 parties in 11 categories.

The award was handed over to winners by Minister of President’s Office and Chairman of Economic and Youth Council – Ahmed Zuhoor.

Senior Executive Director of Sun Hotels and Resorts, Ahmed Shakir accepted the award on behalf of the travel agency.

Sun Hotels and Resorts is a subsidiary company of Sun Siyam Group – owned by businessman and politician – Ahmed Siyam.

Resorts run by Sun Siyam Group have also won multiple awards this year so far, with the four international awards won by Sun Siyam Iru Fushi Malives – which hosted the first international tourism film festival in Maldives.
