PPM demands progress report after disciplinary complaints filed against 5 lawmakers

Deputy Secretary-General of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM), Abdul Aleem has sent a letter to PPM Disciplinary Committee requesting details of the progress so far regarding disciplinary complaints lodged against five members of PPM Parliamentary Group.

Aleem said in the letter that disciplinary complaints against Deputy Leader of PPM Abdul Raheem Abdulla and Leader of Parliamentary Group, MP Ahmed Nihan Hussain Manik had been lodged on July 5; and disciplinary complaints against Kelaa MP Ali Arif, Naifaru MP Ahmed Shiyam and Hulhudhoo MP Mohamed Shahid – on July 11.

Aleem said that PPM Office had sent the disciplinary complaint forms submitted for the six members to Disciplinary Committee on July 12.

He also noted in the letter that as per regulation on disciplinary action, the Disciplinary Committee needed to a decision regarding a week – at the maximum – after a disciplinary complaint is lodged.
