Taxi in Vilimale’ catches fire

A van used as a taxi in Vilimale’ caught fire and burned down on Wednesday.

The incident took place at around 1:15 pm.

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) spokesperson informed “Sun” that no one received any bodily harm in the incident.

He said that MNDF had not received reports of there being anyone else, other than the driver, inside the vehicle when the incident took place.

The interior of the vehicle was damaged beyond use in the fire.

MNDF officers arrived at the scene and put out the fire shortly after it was reported to them.
