Flooding in Raalhugandu area makes driving perilous

Flooding has hit Raalhugandu area in Male’, making driving perilous.

Boduthakurufaanu Magu towards Raalhugandu was scattered with stones as well as floodwater on Wednesday due to the bad weather conditions facing the country with the rainy season - Hulhangu Mansoon.

The stones and the floodwater on the road has made driving in the high-traffic area perilous.

Director of National Meteorological Center, Ahmed Rasheed reported to ‘Sun” that central and southern parts of Maldives would be affected by flooding during high tide, but that there was no risk of severe flooding.

Flooding also hit G. Dh. Vaadhoo and G. Dh. Gadhdhoo on Tuesday as a result of large waves forming in the Huvadhoo Ocean.

National Meteorological Center reported that flooding was the usual effects that the country’s islands face every Hulhangu Monsoon, as advised cautionary measures to protect property and personal possessions from flood damage.
