BroadCom bans content saying MVR 500, 000 would be given for Afrasheem’s murder

Broadcasting Commission (BroadCom) has banned the broadcasting of the report on RaajjeTV’s 60-Minute Program regarding the murder of Dr. Afrasheem.

The content says that by saying it was Humaam that murdered the popular religious scholar, MVR 500,000 would be given.

A letter sent to the CEO of RaajjeTV from the Broadcasting Commission said that a case regarding the content of the report is being investigated by the Commission.

The letter said that the lack of the perspective of both sides violates Article 5 of the Code of Practice of Broadcasting.

The letter ordered RaajjeTV not to broadcast content regarding the death of Dr. Afrasheem until the investigation has been completed.

And with the mention of a documentary on the case on the RaajjeTV news, the Commission advised that the documentary be produced within the Code of Practice of Broadcasting.
