While a park is being developed at the corner of Lily Magu and Chaandhanee Magu, contracted to the Maldives Road Development Corporation (MRDC), late last year, the Housing Ministry announced that a park would be developed at H. Sosunge.
That park was also contracted to MRDC to be completed in one month. Eight months later, the said park is yet to be opened.
As part of the government plan to make the capital Malé City a harmonious city, parks are being built in different areas of the city.
And so while the cafés at the South West Harbor has been replaced with the Raaveribey Square, the Tsunami Monument was moved to the newly developed “Thinruh Park”.
The Republic Monument near the Sultan Park was also moved to the Maafannu “Bisburu”. And a new artificial beach was opened on the South of Malé City by the name of Rasfaannu.
