Discussions have started between India and the Maldives on strengthening the military relations between the two countries.
Activities on strengthening the ties were discussed at the meeting today at the Coast Guard Building.
Indian army officials took part in the discussions along with officials from the MNDF Coastguard and other branches.
The Maldivian delegation at the meeting included the State Minister of the Defence Ministry, Mohamed Zuhair, Chief of Defence Force, Major General Ahmed Shiyam and the Vice Chief of Defence Force, Brigadier General, Ahmed Shaahid.
Indian Defence Secretary, G. Mohan Kumar,Deputy Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral G. Akosh Kumar, Deputy Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General N. P.S. Hira along with the Indian Ambassador to the Maldives, Akhilesh Mishra also took part in the meeting.
