Hulhulé ferry involved in collision and sinking

A ferry travelling from Malé City to Hulhulé has been involved in a collision at sea.

Talking to Sun Media, an eye witness to the scene said that the front of the boat was completely destroyed in the collision.

Information Officer of MNDF, Major Adnaan Mohamed told Sun media that the collision took place between a Hulhulé Ferry and a Malé ferry. He said that no one was injured in the incident.

A witness said that the ferry was carrying people when the collision occurred and two ferries from the MTCC Hulhumalé ferry service nearby took the passengers aboard. And said that they are working to get them to Hulhumalé.

The witness said that Police and MNDF vessels are t the scene and the ferry boat involved in the collision is slowly sinking.

A cargo boat sank near Hulhulé earlier today in a separate incident.
