Inmates taught tailoring at Maafushi Prison

Maldives Correctional Service has begun a tailoring course for the inmates at Maafushi Prison.

The five-week Certificate 1 in Sewing course on two modules is being conducted with the registrated at Maldives Qualification Authority (MQA). This is the third batch in the course according to the Correctional Service.

Correctional Service said that a total of 20 inmates are taking part in the course and the classes are being conducted in two ten-inmate classes.

At the end of the course, inmates would know how to sew pillow cases, bed sheets, pants, shorts and cushions along with taking measurements.

The Institute for Correctional Studies of the Maldives Correctional Service is conducting different courses for the inmates that includes Islam classes, basic Quran classes and Computer Courses.
