Home Minister Umaru Naseer has said that the last seven people who been requested a Monitro and Control (MoniCon) Order against have criminal records extending to two pages and yet the High Court is still yet to issue the order.
Minister Umaru told Sun Media that the Police requested MoniCon on seven people who are on top on criminal offenses a few days ago.
The Home Minister said that while people make accusations saying that things are not getting done, the Home Minister does not have all the power and said that if he had that power, the gang issues would have now been controlled.
Umaru said that no matter what some people say, he has done more as a Home Minister than any previous government has done.
Anti-Terrorism Law states that Police can request a MoniCon Order from the High Court when the Home Minister makes the request. And the High Court must make a decision on the order within 24 hours.
Home Minister Umaru said that if the High Court refuses to issue the MoniCon order on those seven people, he would take the case to Supreme Court.
