Adhaalath Party has called out for authorities to ensure peace and security within the Maldivian community rather than exhausting resources and time on politically-backed agendas.
Adhaalath released a press statement on Sunday, in which it expressed over the rise in gang violence in the country, and the death of two 14-year-old boys in stabbings in Male’, over the weekend.
The party said that maintaining peace and security within the community and preventing major crimes such as gang violence and murders was the biggest responsibility of an Islamic state.
They said that there should not be any greater agenda than to protect Maldivian citizens, and their possessions.
The party said that authorities needed to focus more on preventing the youth of the country from choosing a life of crime, and less on stopping peaceful political activities.
Adhaalath Party said that the blood of a Muslim was precious, and appealed for everyone to stop spilling blood without just cause.
