Former Prosecutor General (PG), Muhuthaz Muhusin has said that he will never trust the judges at the Criminal Court.
The former PG made the statement last night at the hearing in the case against him and the Maamigili Court Magistrate, Ahmed Nihan who has been charged after an illegal attempt to arrest the President with a falsified court order.
Responding to the statement, the Judge presiding over the case, Judge Abdul Baree Yousuf said that Muhuthaz will have to trust the judges at the court. And Muhuthaz said that the said trust should be forced out of him.
“I respect the Criminal Court. But I will never respect the judges at this court.” Muhuthaz said.
Muhuthaz said that the court has been a mentor to him and questioned the court to reflect how it has been proceeding now as compared to before and accused the Criminal Court judges of destroying the country.
Regarding the reports from some news media depicting an argument between Judge Baree and the former PG Muhuthaz, the former PG said that it was true.
The former PG said that he has back problems and is undergoing physiotherapy. And has to get up and exercise every 15 minutes or so and long hours at the hearings is stopping him from doing that.
He questioned Judge Baree if he would carried out the trial until the early hours of the morning and said that the people at the hearing has to been seen as humans.
At the midnight hearing last night, Judge Baree said that he is not looking at the clock and want to finish the testimonies in the trial.
