Discussion held to provide assistance in investigating crimes by Maldivians in Sri Lanka

Sri Lankan Ambassador to the Maldives, Major General Asoka Thoradeniya and the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Areef has discussed on providing assistance to Sri Lankan authorities on investigating the crimes committed by Maldivians living in Sri Lanka.

At the meeting held at Shaheed Hussain Adam Building today, the two discussed on providing assistance to the Maldivian Police from Sri Lankan authorities in crimes related to Maldivians being committed by Maldivians living in Sri Lanka.

The two also discussed procedures on providing assistance to the authorities of both countries.

At the meeting, Commissioner Areef made a request to arrange an easy system to train Maldivian Police in Sri Lanka and work together on investigations.

The Sri Lankan Ambassador said that he would work to provide training in all fields for the Maldivian Police from Sri Lanka.
