President and the First Lady leaves to Malaysia on an official visit

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom and the First Lady, Madam Fathimath Ibrahim has left to Malaysia tonight on an official visit.

The President’s Office said that the President and the First Lady left for Malaysia to participate in the “Permata International Conference: Children Beyond Tomorrow” being held between 31 May and 2 June.

The President is set to meet the Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak aside from taking part in the conference.

“First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim, who is participating in the Conference on the invitation of the Malaysian Prime Minister’s wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, is scheduled to give a lecture on “Education for the Development of the Country.” The President’s Office said.

The Conference aims to create greater awareness and understanding on the development of young people and working towards their optimal advancement.
