Island Council of Gaafu Dhaalu Fiyori has decided to lease a 50,000 square feet of land from the north side of the island to build a tourist hotel.
An announcement made by the Fiyori Island Council said that the announcement was originally made in March but since some of the bidders failed to submit all the relevant documents, they have been disqualified. And the bid has been reopened for the project.
The announcement said that the hotel built on the 50,000 square feet land must be maintained and operated after constructing. The land would be rented for 50 years.
Fiyori Island Council said that the bidders must be a registered Maldivian company or partnership but having foreign partners is not an issue.
The bid document would be available from 22 May to the end of the month at Fiyori Council for MVR 400. And the information session has been set for 1 June and bids must be presented by 1 p.m. on 12 June 2016.
