Islamic Ministry has said that they are working to install “Dhikr” (reminder) boards on the streets of Malé City in preparation for the upcoming month of Ramadan.
Talking to the press about the preparations for Ramadan by the Islamic Ministry, the Deputy Minister of the Islamic Ministry, Ahmed Musthafa Ibrahim said that the purpose of the boards is the remembrance of Allah (SWT) in the daily life, on the road.
And he said that arrangements are being made so people can hear the Seerah and Quran recitations at public squares and a card with 40 prayers would be printed for distribution.
The Islamic Ministry has many other plans for Ramadan this year including a special workshop on preparing for Ramadan on 28 May. Applications have now been opened to join this workshop.
The Ministry has decided to send religious scholars to the office and family gatherings that are being held before the month of Ramadan.
Also, the Ministry has decided to bring changes to the proceedings of the lunar sighting for the month of Ramadan by broadcasting information on the study of moon sighting in the lunar calendar via television during the official function is underway.
