The names of the closed witnesses presented by the State against the former Prosecutor General (PG) Muhuthaz Muhisin, to prove three charges against him, has been leaked.

At the hearing today, the former PG said that there are information about the closed witnesses on the documents delivered to him by the court and he would not take responsibility for it. Muhuthaz said that he has also presented the names of those people as defence witnesses today.
Names of the defence witnesses presented by the former PG today:
• Police Staff Sargent Ali Ahmed
• Police Staff Sargent Siraj Abdul Gadir
• Mohamed Nisham, Malé
• Chief Inspector of Police, Ahmed Muslim
• Superintendent of Police, Hamdoon Rasheed
• Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Saudi
• Police Staff Sargent Abdulla Maseeh
• Police Sargent Ali Waseem
The terrorism charge against the former PG Muhuthaz says that he went to Maamigili around 2:45 a.m. on the night of 7 February 2016 with some others and met with the Maamigili Court Magistrate, Ahmed Nihan.
And opened the Magistrate Court and gave Magistrate Nihan and email and the corresponding passpord to access it and the Magistrate used the court’s laptop to access it and downloaded a document that resembles a Court Order titled “Maafushi Amuru” (Maafushi Order) and made the changes to it.
The state also presented evidence to prove the three charges.
Purpose of the State presented by the evidence:
• Muhuthaz arrived in Maamigili
• Mahuthaz entered the Maamigili Court
• Muhuthaz providing Nihan with the email address and the corresponding password to access it
• Placing the document on a motorcycle on Neelofaru Magu inside an envelope
• Calling the Police to get the document
The Defence evidence to prove that he did not do those things. While the state presented the names of a number of witnesses, most have been named as defence witnesses by former PG Muhuthaz.
Three people, Police Staff Sargent Ali, Ahmed Police Staff Sargent Siraj Abdul Gadir and Mohamed Nisham, named by the defense were not on the list by the State. Mohamed Nisham is the brother of the Commissioner of Sports, Ahmed Nasheed.
At the closing of the hearing today, Judge Ibrahim Ali Waheed said that testimonies from the state witnesses would be held on 30 May at 10 a.m.
