Boat capsized with five people

A boat travelling near Thilafushi has been capsized with five people on board.

There were two locals and three expatriates on board when the incident occurred. All five are now safe.

The captain of the boat suffered a head trauma during the incident which took place after 6 p.m. today.

Media Official of the MNDF said that the five people were rescued by the MNDF Coastguard after their boat capsized and the injured captain was given treatment.

Met Office has advised caution during sea voyages since the weather has been unfavorable recently with strong winds and rough seas.

MNDF said that dangerous incidents are taking place across the country due to the bad weather.
