Half a million offered to the “Enme Aligatha Thari”

Public Service Media (PSM) has decided to give MVR 500,000 to the winner of their program searching for a great reciter and knowledgeable person of the holy Quran, “Enme Aligatha Thari” (the brightest star).

Allied Insurance’s “Islamic Window Ayady Takaful” was assigned as the sponsor of the program tonight by PSM.

Speaking at the signing ceremony with the sponsors tonight, the Deputy Managing Director of PSM,Mohamed Ikram said that while a full scholarship at the Islamic University would be offered to the top three contestants, discussions are underway with donators to offer a Hajj and Umrah pilgrimage to the top three.

He said that neighboring countries and donors are guaranteeing prizes for the winners.

While half a million has been put up for grabs this year, auditions are set to be held in four areas across the country unlike the previous years.

This is the fourth year for the competition and until now, the grand prize has been MVR 100,000.
