Maldivian falls to his death from 18th floor of hotel in Colombo

A Maldivian has plummeted to his death from the 18th floor of the JAIC Hilton Hotel in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

The deceased has been identified by media as Mohamed Midshah, who is the elder brother of renowned football player Ali Umar. This is yet to be confirmed.

An official of JAIC Hilton Hotel said that he fell at around 3:45 this morning from a balcony and landed in the hotel compound. He was a guest at the hotel.

The incident is under investigation by the relevant Sri Lankan authorities.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed this incident, but did not provide any details.
