A child is being treated at Fuvahmulah Hospital after a non-fatal drowning at “Bandaara Kilhi.”
The Director of the Fuvahmulah Hospital, Mohamed Ismail told Sun Media that a small boy that drowned at “Bandaara Kilhi” was brought to the hospital around 5:30 p.m. and is now being treated at the ICU.
“Was not good when (he was) brought in. Later (he) bled from the nose and all. But now there is no bleeding, but still in serious condition.” Mohamed Ismail said.
He said that the lungs were damaged from the drowning and is working to transfer the boy to Malé City for further treatment.
“No major injuries are visible on the outside. Lungs are damaged, the doctors conclude, major damage (to the lungs).” Mohamed Ismail said.
