Deputy Commander of the Chinese PLA Navy arrives in the Maldives

The Deputy Commander of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army’s Navy, Vice Admiral Tian Zhong has made an official visit to the Maldives.

Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) said that the purpose of the Vice Admiral’s visit to the Maldives was to build the relationship between the military of the two countries. A delegation of seven officials arrived in the Maldives for the visit.

Vice Admiral Zhong was welcomed at the Ibrahim Nasir International Airport (INIA) by the Commander of the Aviation Security, Brigadier General, Zakariya Mansoor.

The Deputy Commander is set to meet the Maldivian Defence Minister, Adam Shareef Umar in his visit along with other high ranking officials of the MNDF.
