Thai interest to the Tourism District

Investors from Thailand have expressed interest in the Tourism District to be developed in Hulhumalé.

The Tourism District is scheduled to be developed on the north side of the city. While the district is to be targeted towards modern tourists, the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has said that the district and the main city of Hulhumalé would be connected by two roads.

Six hotels of 7-10 stories to include 100-500 beds are set to be built in the Tourism District at Hulhumalé. While a land of 10,000-30,000 square feet has been set for the project, 74 lands are set to be leased to build serviced apartments. HDC says that about 3,600 beds would be available at the 14 story buildings to be built in the district.

Four groups of resort owners have expressed interest in the tourism district and gained information to build more hotels.
